On October 9th, the debut self-titled album for my project Linaire releases! And - in celebration of this release, I’ve teamed up with video artist Elysha Poirier (who also designed the album cover!) to bring you a very special livestream - a performance of the album from start to finish in my home studio, accompanied by exquisite visuals by Elysha. We want to make this one as immersive as possible, so if you’re able, listen on headphones, or a good sound system, and watch on a full screen. Prepare yourself a festive beverage. Uncluttered electronic beats and ethereal synths combine with incandescent strings and poetically lucid lyrics to produce music that is at once spacious and full. Like plastic antiques, the songs feel both timeless and contemporary in their exploration of presence, anxiety, curiosity, lineage and identity. Elysha Poirier is a multidisciplinary artist working with animation, film and video for live performance. Her work investigates patterns found in nature and how this translates to realtime motion graphics – combining real and imaginative worlds where boundaries and thresholds are inverted, rearranged and transposed. Elysha has realized a wide range of installations and engaged in live performances for dance, experimental music, film and theatre.
